The Founder - Makinde Adedapo

Makinde specializes in curating, producing, and executing events for a wide array of entertainment venues and educational institutions.

With over 10 years of experience as an educator in high school social studies, Makinde launched Collective Genius, LLC., an education, and entertainment consulting firm. He’s managed multiple events and concerts in and around the Chicagoland area including Hyde Park Jazz Fest and Milwaukee Summerfest. He has worked with numerous local artists including Vic Mensa and Chance the Rapper, just to name a few.

Makinde is also deeply rooted in the fabric of Chicago and serves as a Steering Committee Member for the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Cultural Events. Recently he was named as an honoree for the 2021 King Makers Concierge I AM King award, which highlights the accomplishments of Black men in business and lifestyle in Chicago.

When he is not on or behind the stage, you can find him co-hosting the weekly “edutainment” podcast, the Corner Convo. He enjoys all things music, education, and culture.
